You have just purchased your new PS4 and you’re ready to dive in. Maybe you’re new to console gaming, or maybe this is just the latest in a long line of consoles that you have owned. Which games should you try first? Here’s our list of the best exclusive games for newcomers to the PS4.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
It’s the conclusion to an award-winning series that began back in 2007. Developed by Naughty Dog, there is never any doubting the quality provided – you are guaranteed the best of all elements of which create an amazing game. Stunning visuals are matched with a compelling story that will leave you wanting more, the breath taking scenery pare amazingly well with the narrative. For those who love adventure titles, this is a must-experience title, but you might want to play through the remastered previous releases first.
The Last of Us Remastered
This is a real gem, an exclusive that you’ll get only on the PS4. Based on an earlier edition, this remastered game features a post-apocalyptic world in which your characters must survive. Enhanced and beautified, this intense yet thoughtful game is an unforgettable experience, only available on the PS4.
Ratchet and Clank
With so many PS4 exclusive games available, Ratchet and Clank is one of those titles that stands out. Full of colour and adventure, it’s not just a game for children to enjoy, but for those who have a passion for adventure and exploration. The formula maybe simple, but the entertainment value is high. Don’t hesitate to give this game a try, you won’t regret it.
Rocket League*
This release was available as a PS4 exclusive for quite sometime, however, it’s now made its way over to other platforms. With that said, Rocket League is one of those titles that gives you plenty to enjoy, so if you’re new to console gaming in general, you might want to start out with this game or a similar title. Although you’ll catch onto the gameplay quickly, Rocket League offers plenty of challenges.
Bloodborne
If you want to catch up quickly with the games that others have been playing, try your hand at Bloodborne. It’s a tough game to master, but just keep persisting; suddenly, you’ll realize that you’ve figured out the gameplay, and then you’ll love the freedom that you get along with your new-found expertise.
Tearaway Unfolded
If you prefer milder games, try the PS4’s Tearaway Unfolded. It’s a beautiful and imaginative game that involves a world entirely made of paper, in which paper-craft characters follow their destiny and overcome obstacles by changing or moving other paper objects. It’s surprisingly enchanting with a variety of unique puzzles to solve.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
This is another must-play, so grab the bundle called Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and work your way through all four titles. You’ll get the benefit of the PS4’s awesome graphics quality, and you’ll be so immersed in the storyline that you’ll barely notice the moment that you become a PS4 master.
Until Dawn
Are you a horror movie buff? Once you get more accustomed to the PS4, try a horror game like Until Dawn. You’ll take turns playing as each one of eight teenagers who are spending in the night in— you guessed it— a cabin in the woods. Unfortunately, a serial killer is also wandering around and the eight teens are the perfect target for his or her murderous impulses. As one of the characters, you’ll make choices about whether to run, hide, or fight. Depending on where and how you move, your character lives or dies. It’s a thrilling game that will help you become a true expert at the PS4 controls.
Infamous: Second Son
Another PS4 exclusive is Infamous: Second Son. You’ll enjoy being able to blow things up, zoom through the city at high speeds, and employ unique superpowers. In addition to Second Son, remember to play through the downloadable content called First Light, which enriches the characters by adding backstory and gives you even more chances to be a superhero.
