With 2014 now coming to a close, not to forget we’ve still got big titles incoming soon (GTA V, COD: Advanced Warfare, etc), it’s about time to take a look at which huge titles will be heading to PS4 in 2015. If you thought this year has been good so far, you’d best take note of what is set for a huge next year release.
Like with any console release, you often see many stellar titles arrive after the first year of release. What does this mean? If you’ve loved your PS4 gaming experience so far, you’d best get ready to see more and better games with improved graphics – 2015 is set to be the finest year of game releases for PS4 so far. Excited? Read on.
Now we take a look at 5 game releases which could be potential GOTY (Game Of The Year) award winners and essential titles to put on your pre-order list.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
As soon as you see this title, you know that it’s going to make your pulse rate go through the roof with excitement. Nathan Drake, retired fortune hunter, will return several years after his previous adventure. Things are much more personal this time around; this global-trotting adventure will test his strength, his resolve, and his emotions.
Only PS4 owners will be able to enjoy this title – this PS4 exclusive is guaranteed to put an envious thrown on those who don’t own the PlayStation 4.
To say that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End could be a huge title is somewhat of an understatement – try thinking of a word that means bigger than ‘huge’ and that’s what we expect Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to successfully achieve. Naughty Dog, the developers, are in the business of making award winning titles – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is on course to be yet another ‘award winner’ to add to their portfolio of titles.
Bloodborne
Bloodborne is an upcoming PS4 exclusive, which is on course to be the envy of any gamer who doesn’t own a PS4. Bloodborne is being developed by From Software, the makers of a variety of big titles, including Demon’s Souls, and of course, Dark Souls I and II. As the name suggests, Bloodborne falls in to the “horror” genre, set in a gothic city, where the likes of Michael Myers wouldn’t feel safe. Strategy will play a large part when it comes to the gameplay, you’ll have access to a large arsenal of weapons, which range from machine guns to saw cleavers – but strategy will be your most powerful weapon. The game engine is expected to make full use of the PS4’s power, assisting in pulling you in to the gothic themed environments, creating an outstanding gameplay experience.
If you love horror titles, or strategy themed games, then Bloodborne is an compulsory addition to your pre-order list – pre-order now.
The Order: 1886
This title is another reason to be a proud PS4 owner; this PS4 exclusive is one to be excited about. Mixing the past with the future has already proven a successful innovation for a storyline. Which title springs to mind? Wolfenstein: The New Order. Mixing an old setting with futuristic weapons and technology, a scenario you won’t find often in game history, yet one that can work amazingly well. The lack of multiplayer might put off a few, however, this game is all about the story, which should be fully engaging and something that a multiplayer mode wouldn’t add that much to.
If you’re the type of gamer who loves a good storyline and dosen’t really care too much about multiplayer gameplay, or enjoyed Wolfenstein: The New Order, then The Order: 1886 is an essential game to pre-order.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
The Metal Gear Solid series started way back in 1987, and we’ve got a Mr. Hideo Kojima to thank for that. This franchise has remained ‘solid’ (pun intended) ever since it first began. Unless you’ve lived under a stone for the last 20 years, if you’ve owned the PS1 / PS2, or a variety of other platforms, then Metal Gear Solid should be very familiar.
We’ve already seen the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which was somewhat impressive for an early console release title, and designed as a ‘taster’ to get us all in the mood for what’s coming. The Phantom Pain will be the final release in the Metal Gear Solid V storyline. Gameplay follows the events from Ground Zeroes, you’ll play as Snake, little else is currently known.
Hideo Kojima, the series creator and director, is the person behind the ground-breaking vision of creating the largest and most technically accomplished title in the series’ history.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be coming to PS4, PS3, PC, XBOX 360 and XBOX One sometime in 2015. It’s unlikely to disappoint and well worth the pre-order.
Tom Clancy’s: The Division
The Tom Clancy’s franchise has been somewhat turbulent, we’ve seen some disappointing titles, average titles, and some amazing titles; most notably Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six. Can Ubisoft deliver another exciting title, that at bare minimum, lives up to the things we all loved about Rainbow Six? There are more than a handful of reasons why The Division could become another ‘award winner’.
You just need to take one look at the Snowdrop game engine to realise that we could be on to something special. Then you grasp that this will be an all-new take on the series, offering open online world gameplay, with RPG elements, where exploring and player evolvement is key.
This title has the potential to re-define the series; however, it could also prove to be another ‘average title’. From what we’ve seen, so far, this is a well-deserved pre-order title which will release on PS4, PC and XBOX One.
