October has passed, and we’re taking a look at the titles it brought for the PS4. Check out our bite-sized reviews and decide which of these games might be worth adding to your collection!
Battlefield 1
If you’re looking for incredible realism and a pure adrenaline rush, Battlefield 1 is the ideal PS4 title for you. The game is vividly realistic, wonderfully exciting, and so intense and overwhelming that players come away with a sense of what boots-on-the-ground warfare was like in the decades just before World War II. The storyline clearly shows how war affects everyone involved, all while portraying the battles with raw, unsettling reality.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20-Year Celebration Edition
Lara Croft is back with a vengeance in the fierce action-adventure title for PS4 “Rise of the Tomb Raider.” You’ll find out the secrets of Lara’s childhood, encounter zombies as part of a nightmare sequence, and join with co-op buddies to break into tombs. The game includes VR support to make the in-game atmosphere even more immersive.
Ace Banana PS VR
Who knew that shooting monkeys in the face could be so much fun? Ace Banana is a wild, silly game with a unique, colorful art style. It’s a VR title, which makes it even more fun to play. Throw coins, rocks, hedgehogs, and more at the thieving little monkeys, and enjoy the new aspect that head tracking brings to the experience.
Farming Simulator 17
For the first time, “Farming Simulator 17” allows gamers to play as women or hire women to work on the farm. Discover a myriad of options for developing and customizing your farm, learn to diversify crops, and drive lifelike farm vehicles. You can invite friends to participate in the growth of your farm and explore this edition’s array of new tractors, animals, features, and map areas.
Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel
“Ashes of Ariandel” is a downloadable content pack for Dark Souls fans. The land it unveils is crystallized in ice, rife with fierce wolves and other enemies. Players will need all the skills they amassed while playing Dark Souls III to make it through this action-packed, perilously beautiful game. Modifiers allow you to arrange for two to six players for team battles or take on free-for-all fights.
World of Final Fantasy
Developed by Square Enix and Tose, “World of Final Fantasy” brings together all of your favorite Final Fantasy game characters into one sprawling land. You’ll recognize all kinds of monsters and heroes as you follow the storyline of Reynn and Lann, siblings who are fighting to regain their memories and defend their world. It’s an imaginative, enjoyable romp for all ages.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
“Until Dawn: Rush of Blood” is immersive horror unparalleled so far in the gaming world. It’s a PlayStation VR title, a virtual reality adventure in seven levels. Fly along the terrifying roller-coaster and blow away the frightful fiends that come your way. With so many paths available and adjustable difficulty levels, this game has lots of replay value to add to the shock value.
Mafia III
It’s 1968 in New Orleans, and main character Lincoln is searching for purpose and belonging after the Vietnam war. The Italian mob wrecks his homecoming, spurring Lincoln into all-out war against the Mafia. Players get to take on Lincoln’s role as he creates a mob of his own. Player choice is key throughout the game, as you get to select different paths to achieve your minor goals and your ultimate revenge.
