If there’s only one thing that could dampen all of the excitement surrounding next-gen gaming, then it would have to be the uncertainty about GTA V and the PlayStation 4. The uncertainty has left many asking, will GTA V feature on PS4? If so, when?
It would be hard to imagine that GTA V wouldn’t release on the PlayStation 4 at some point. A recent tweet from Sony got plenty of attention, which said, “GTA V is going to be amazing, especially on the PS4!”. Sadly, the tweet was nothing more than a typo, according to Rockstar. Rockstar’s response, “Apologies for the typo about GTA V. It’s due for release on PS3 on September 17th,” the company said. Whilst the reply confirms it’s coming out on PS3, it wasn’t stated that the game wouldn’t be coming to PS4 at a later date. Was this a subtle way of Rockstar letting us indirectly know that GTA V would be appearing sometime soon on PS4?
Are Rockstar working on a bigger and better version of GTA V for PS4?
Next-gen consoles open the door to many new possibilities for video game developers. Whilst graphics are likely to be improved, could we expect an even bigger map? Extra features that wont be available in current-gen consoles? Could Sony and Microsoft battle it out for next-gen exclusivity for this title? With more questions than answers, we’ll all have to sit back and wait for news.
We expect a PS4 GTA V release sometime in 2014, which will be an upper-polished version of the current-gen edition. However, this is mere speculation, and we’re all going to have to wait for more news and leaks from good old Rockstar.
